Japanese legend promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by a crane. A thousand paper cranes are also traditionally given as a wedding gift by the father, who is wishing a thousand years of happiness and prosperity upon the couple (Wikipedia).

These well wishes and blessing were felt throughout Allison and Kyle's wedding celebration. Sarah Lee Welch Photography was at Lionscrest to capture the photographic moments of the day so that like the cranes these images will live on as cherished mementos of love and blessings from family and friends who joined them as they became husband and wife.

Allison and Kyle worked with some other amazing vendors to help create their wedding space into a romantic and welcoming location for all to gather and enjoy each others company. Deb with Reale Decorating worked with the shades of blue and cream white to create striking bouquets and floral arrangements. She also incorporated thick gauge wire into the boutonnieres to add a modern sharp crispness to contrast the dainty elegance blossoms. It was quite stunning!

Marci with Colorado Rose Cake Co also took the twisted lines and incorporated that into the wedding cake with a wrap effect that was set off the fresh flowers. The five tier cake tempted guests with its fragrant smell of soft roses and sweet icing. We have to admit that even after 16 years of weddings we can't pass up a piece of Marci's cake!

All in all this wedding tempted and rewarded for mind body and soul from beginning to end with the love and thought that these two put into the details. We send Allison and Kyle 1,000 blessing and many happy years filled with laughter, joy and tradition!

Clea and Steven exchanged their vows in front of friends and family on May 29th, 2010. As you can see from their photos taken by Marsha Steckling of Life Exposed Photography, they truly are "In Love".
Marsha always does a great job capturing those tender moments that pass so quickly during an event. I recently had the opportunity to attend a friends wedding at a different venue where Marsha was shooting and can attest to her overall skill and talent both at Lionscrest and beyond. The calming nature she exudes helps her couples to relax and in turn gives her the chance to capture, as her company names states, Life.
With a unique twist on the wedding color palette Clea and Stevenselected Navy and Celedon as their linen colors. Navy to me is a greatalternative to black and served as a striking off-set to make theirtablescapes for the reception really pop.
The wedding guests were also treated to fanciful food delights by Greens Point Catering and the wedding cake by Das Meyer Pastry Chalet. Dennis (the big teddy bear) Das Meyer always puts his heart and soul into all of his cakes. His artistry has made him a favorite with couples and vendors (yeah, we eat cake too).
I love the play of the photos below on the idea of a classic "white silhouette". Everything looks sleek, elegant and I dare say, sexy!
Congratulations to Clea and Steven! May your future be filled with many amazing "Life" moments. We enjoyed being a part of your special day and look forward to many anniversary visits.

Ali and Doug were married on May 14th, 2010 at Lionscrest. The day was planned out and everyone was set for an amazingly wonderful Spring outdoor ceremony. Unfortunately, Colorado is known to throw weather curve balls this time of year. We all worked together to make a quick change for the indoor ceremony and thanks to the hard work of all of the vendors still pulled off an amazing and unique intimate indoor ceremony set of with the bright colors chosen by Ali.
With a break or two in the clouds Benjamin with Alive Studios was able to sneak the couple and bridal party outside for those coveted Colorado mountain photos. There is nothing like an overcast day that helps to bring out the brightest and most vibrant hues in flowers, nature and yes even people.
The colors and flowers selected by the couple and brought to life by European Flower Shop were a true representation of not only their love for life but for each other. As you can see from the photos even Mother Nature could not keep this group from having a great time!
Congrats to Ali and Doug. May every day of your life together be as vibrant an passion filled as your wedding day!

A note from Benjamin...
Ali and Doug have been amazing to work with from the engagement adventure shoot through to the wee hours of the wedding night! Ali had a very clear idea of the style she wanted for her wedding images. Alive Studios provided the perfect mix of photo journalistic adventure and classic wedding photography.
The engagement shoot set the stage for an amazing photographic experience at their wedding. Plans were set, family shot lists set up, and the day promised to be one big party. Ali had opted to wait till after the ceremony to see Doug, and we had planned on doing romantic shots up above Lionscrest and then family pictures outside in the lush landscapes surrounding Lionscrest Manor. Ah, but the powers that be decided to bless us with thunderstorms and so the fun began. Ali showed up and met quickly with Benjamin of Alive Studios to figure out how to get the pictures they had planned, even with the rain. We quickly switched our plan and created a beautiful moment for Ali to see Doug before the ceremony, and before the rain!
Lionscrest did amazing work and moved everything inside while we got as many images of Ali, Doug and the wedding party before the sky opened up and the rain fell. A cozy inside ceremony followed and then Alive Studios faced the challenge of getting amazing family photographers even with the rainy weather. With the help of the Lionscrest staff, we moved a few tables, opened up the double French doors and used the lush wet background to capture all our photographs while everyone stood under the awning… A photo booth by Booth 66added to the fun, and as you can see from these pictures, the reception ROCKED!

Well we think Spring is here to stay but with Colorado you just never know!
Wedding season has started again and just like the blooming flowers we are excited to see new happy engaged couples popping up for a visit. At Lionscrest we really feel like we can talk to you and tell you all about our wonderful facility, packages we offer, amazing vendors and so on but nothing does the views and scenery justice like photos. If you can't make it up to see the facility firsthand then we hope this Spring Wedding slideshow featuring past weddings captured by Elegant Images will help and inspire you for your own special day. Enjoy!

Mint to Be….

Ramona and Kaidan were married at Lionscrest on May 9th, 2009. The weather was ideal during their 5:30 ceremony. The bridal party entered the ceremony to elegant live music by Ribbons and Strings. Ramona looked stunning in her strapless ivory gown. An element of fun was added to the ceremony when their dog Sadie carried the rings down the aisle.
During the cocktail hour their guests enjoyed Mexican Mojitos made with local agave nectar and savory appetizers by Greens Point Catering. Kaidan and Ramona used this time to slip away for an intimate photo session with Elegant Images. Kammi and Ross took them for a short hike on top of the mountain. It is clear from these photos that they were “mint to be”. Kaidan had a way of making Ramona’s face light up.
Kaidan’s sister Thanh helped Ramona put personal touches into decorating the ballroom. Thanh and the Nquyen family took care of everything from the centerpieces to the favors. I loved the favors! Each guests received a mint plant to take home and enjoy adorned with a sign “mint to be.”
After their first dance, Kaidan decided to give a speech. It was incredible and heartfelt. He thanked all of his guests for sharing in their special day and for traveling so far. At the conclusion to his speech in English, he said it all over again in Vietnamese for all of his family. This was one of the many times throughout the wedding I noticed how important family was for Ramona and Kaidan.
Once the dance floor was open, the party started. Jed from Pure Sounds Productions did an incredible job reading this worldly crowd and kept them dancing all night long. Ramona and Kaidan’s guests were having so much fun that the couple decided to extend their event to continue the dancing.
Kaidan and Ramona left their wedding in style, departing with their bridal party in a 1936 fourteen passenger White Touring Limousine. This antique limousine was provided by The Ambassador’s Rolls.
Congratulations Kaidan and Ramona, you are “mint to be!”

Rain, rain, go away…come again another day!
Posted by Ann Yuska, Lionscrest Event Supervisor
It was a rainy Memorial Day and the weather just wouldn’t cooperate for Andee and John’s 5:30 ceremony…but the good news…a beautiful indoor ceremony with the opportunity to go outside for some incredible pictures later! The special touches that Andee and her mom had planned with Reale Decorating were transformed last minute inside…even placing ribbon in front of the center aisle…mimicking all that would have been done outside…yet inside at the last minute.
Andee and John are a fun loving, in-love couple whose smiles can light up a room…especially when they are gazing into each other’s eye…you guys are great!! The classic black and white with a touch of red color palate looked amazing. The red roses were stunning and matched the bridesmaids’ red shoes perfectly! The red roses for the wedding day are a special tribute to Andee's grandmother, Elda Cullen. This flower was here favorite-strong and vibrant and a symbol of love, just as she was. The roses were in honor her and her marriage to Robert Cullen, which lovingly endured for over 50 years.
The attention to detail was amazing…I especially LOVED the Groom’s Cake. An incredible “map” of places that Andee and John had visited. Such a cute tribute to the fun places the couple had traveled to and definitely a crowd favorite! Colorado Rose Cake Company did such a wonderful job of not only pleasing the eyes with their designs, but pleasing those sweet tooths with their incredible flavors! Cake…a sweet way to compliment a sweet day!
I just loved the way Dawn and Sandra (the Matrons of Honor) put together the “Shoe Question” game. Let me explain…Andee and John sat back to back on the dance floor and each had one of each other’s shoes. Dawn asked some questions of the couple and they had to answer by raising the shoe of the correct person…such as… Who drives slower? Who cleans more? Who takes longer to get ready? Who said I love you first? And lastly…Who do you love more? It was cute to see what answers each one gave!! Sometimes they answered the same, sometimes no!! A fun, fun game that allowed us to see a peak into the lives of this newlywed couple!
Ryleigh and Robbie....you two are the BEST Flower Girl and Ring Bearers around! I hope you two had lots of fun!!! Thanks for being so great at your job!
It was an honor to help you, Andee and John, on your wedding day! Thank you for being such a great couple to work with…I enjoyed you two and your families….what a wonderful group of people you call your family and friends!! Best Wishes and Have fun in Maui!!!
